Opportunities for Parent Involvement in Program Activities

Parents will be provided an opportunity to be involved in program activities, special programs, and events. (Family pizza day, parent day, parent day at the park, resources availability, Open House, etc.)

Watch for fliers in your email we have on file, check this website for parent news, and sometime by text (with your permission)

Support Onsite Breastfeeding or Pumping 

There is an onsite breastfeeding or pumping area, for parents’ convenience, at my home on the first floor in my private office. Collected Milk will be stored in bottle with child’s name and date.

Napping and Resting

Napping and resting will take place daily for up to 1 ½ hour(s) using mates, cots, and playpens Infants may fall asleep at any time. For non-nappers, the following quiet activities will be provided for example: reading, painting, and coloring

Supervision and Child Guidance

  • No child is ever left unsupervised

  • All children in care are within sight or hearing at all times

  • Setting clear limits

  • Redirecting to an appropriate activity

  • Showing positive alternatives

  • Modeling the desired behavior

  • Reinforcing appropriate behavior

  • Encouraging children to control their own behavior

  • Cooperate with others and solve problems by talking

  • Separation from the situation, no more than one minute per each year of child’s age (excluding infants)

  • Discussion for separation will be conducted with child and talking about expected behavior

  • A protective hug so that the child may regain self-control


I provide family childcare for the following hours.

Monday – Friday 7:00AM to 7:00AM

 Saturday 9:00AM -5:00PM

No Sundays


Policy on When (or if) the Program will use a Substitute or Childcare Staff Member

No substitute care provided; parents must have alternative childcare available when program is closed. If program is closed for vacation, illness or holiday, parents, will be notified by phone call and/or text message within 24 hours of start time.

Procedures for Arrival and Departure

Parents are required daily to accompany their child in and out of my home. Parents are required to sign in and sign out daily on the Child Care Time Attendance System (TAP) Kinder Connect (if applicable).  I LOVE… is required to complete the weekly attendance record when a child arrives and departs.


Absent Day Policy

Parents are required to give 24-hour advance notice for vacation, holidays, special events, etc. when children will not be attending. When child is sick, parents are to call or text by 6:00am the day of prior to arrival time to give notice.

Policy for Follow-Up When a Child that is Scheduled to Arrive from School, Activity or Another Program, Does Not Arrive:

  • I will contact parents and activity or other program by phone within 15 minutes of expected arrival time if a child does not arrive to the program.

Infant Care (if applicable)

  • Daily Infant activities are given with supervision at all times

  • Tummy Time

  • Floor play time (3-5 minutes, two to three times per day, longer periods as they grow)

  • Music

  • Dance

  • Daily Infant activities will be recorded, and a copy given to parents

  • Food intake

  • Sleep times and patterns

Water Activities/Swimming. (If applicable)

  • Program will not provide swimming

  • Program will provide water table and sprinkling water activities (no form needed)

  • Please note parents are required to bring in additional clothing to have available in program for all necessary changes. Soil clothing items will be sent home daily and every Monday replacement clothing items are expected to be brought into program.

Policy on Program’s Operation during Inclement Weather, School Delays or School Closings:

  • Program will be opened during inclement weather, school delays, and school closings.

  • If program is delayed or closed parents will be notified by phone call and/ or text within 2 hours of start time

  • School age children will be provided a permanent slot to ensure that program stays in compliance not to exceed group size ratios 1:6 unless parent does not require and make own arrangements therefore slot would be open and available. Program will not exceed group size, ratio 1:6

Policy on When the Program will Require Disenrollment of a Child

Disenrollment of a child may take place after parents and I schedule meeting(s) to discuss and resolve issues pertaining to behavior, failed conflict resolution attempts (refusal or 2 missed scheduled meetings) and irregular attendance. Parent will be given two weeks’ notice.

****Immediate disenrollment of a child will take place for any physical confrontation with parents, and failed attempts regarding all reparative issues.

Policy on Releasing Children to Someone Other than Parent(s)

  • Children shall be released to the parent or to a person who has been previously approved by the parent

  • There must be a release form on file with full name of person who will pick up the child

  • Photo ID is required at time of release when person is other than parent. ID will be copied and kept on file.


Policy on Releasing Children According to Custody Agreement

  • Children shall be released to parents or person who has been previously approved by the parent.

  • When releasing children according to Custody agreement, parent must previously approve, and document on file. The agreement must be discussed and agreed upon at the time of enrollment.

  • Photo ID is required at time of release when person is other than parent.

 Procedures that Will Be Taken in the Event of an Emergency, Serious Illness, Injury:

  • Incident / Injury Form (JFS 01299) shall be completed, and copy will be provided to parent or the person picking up the child on the day of the incident or injury.  A serious injury incident report (JFS 01299) will be created in OCLQS by the next business day.

  • If a child has, a serious illness or injury 911 will be called and parent notification will be immediate by way of phone and text.

  • Child will be transported to the nearest hospital; incident report will be created and will be given to the parent.

  • First aid treatment is applied for non-serious injuries

  • If evacuation becomes necessary children will be taken to the Fire Department located at 40 Severance Circle, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118 (216) 291-2673

Policy on Providing Care to Children Whose Parents Refuse Consent for Emergency Transportation:

  • No care will be provided for children whose parents refuse consent for emergency transportation
